Sourdough

If you had told me three years ago when I mixed a small amount of flour and water together to make my own starter that I would one day be teaching Sourdough Workshops to the people in my community I definitely would have laughed in disbelief. I was so intrigued by the process of making sourdough but the whole thing sounded so foreign to me. Fermentation? What’s a starter and why do I have to feed it? What do you mean it takes 24 hours to make a loaf of bread? But the moment I pulled my first loaf out of the oven, I was hooked. And now, I hope you will be too.

Stella, my beloved sourdough starter, and I would love to have you join us for our next workshop. The majority of my workshops are held at Dose Coffee Shop in Revelstoke, BC, but sometimes Stella and I hit the road for workshops in other communities. At the workshop you will learn all the skills to bake beautiful sourdough bread at home and you will leave with you very own starter ready to be named and cared for. My workshops are for all levels and I believe that there is a sourdough schedule for everyone, whether you work long office hours or are a busy parent.

I also offer private workshop for small groups in your very own kitchen. Please get in touch to discuss the details with me.

Whether it’s baking a loaf of bread or making a meal at home, creating something from scratch with your own two hands for the ones you love is one of the most loved-filled endeavours we can embark on.

I look forward to sharing my passion with you.

Let’s bake.

Ps. Craving sourdough but don’t have time to make a loaf? I am now selling bread at the Revelstoke Winter Market. Follow along on instagram for more updates.
